About me
Is Edward Elric who is not to be named
Name: Niwarin/Niwa/霖丹音
For those of you wondering why the phonetics of my name do not sound like how they should be in Chinese, it's because I like the Japanese pronunciations better. Come on, Rin Niwane is much easier to say than Lin Danyin. = ( I also want to avoid the potentiality of being called Dan or Don. *cringe* Niwa sounds so much better.
You can talk to me in Chinese, but please don't talk to me in Japanese (despite my name sounding Japanese, rite). I don't understand it, other than like, "obasan" and "kawaii" (commonly used in Taiwanese). I should really learn it sometime, but mehh. orz

Disappointment

Here, a real journal entry.
Yesterday, I found an art thief on deviantART who tried to pass off an image edit as an original drawing of her character. Her gallery was also full of traces of art I know. She was even receiving tons of exposure from a gallery director, which is...urgh. It just makes me not want to try anymore.
Today, I find another one on DA, but I think that person just didn't know the rules, so I let that one slide.
Today, I find another one on Manga Revolution. She's posting the artwork of an artist I really like, and I seriously doubt that they're the same person. She's not answering any comments that ask about her identity, yet has the time to comment on a bunch of other things.
I don't mind image edits or traces, if the context is right. I've seen tons of parodies of anime openings on YouTube, where 75% is traced, but I think those are awesome. I don't even mind vector art, which is all the hype and controversy on DA now. I guess I probably don't mind vector art as much because the original work is preserved, and the vector is usually of anime screenshots that most people know.
I cannot stand pixel dolls, though. I'm seeing anime pixel doll bases of all these pictures I recognize, and many of the base makers do not provide credit to where they got the base from, yet type their HOW TO USE MY WORK in caps.
Even among some of my DA friends, I'm seeing image edits and traces being passed off as "original" work. And a majority of them say "don't steal my work," which is so ironic. Most trace poses, and when someone comments on how good the pose is, instead of saying they didn't make the pose, they say something like "thanks i worked soo hard on it," which is like... wut. How hard is it to do a low quality trace of something?
Now I am reminded yet again of why I should not draw, let alone manga. Even when heavily watermarked, it's just so...unsafe.
Yeah, stuff like fractal art isn't safe either; people are always on the hunt for stuff like that to stick in their backgrounds.

Ohh, can the mods promote clubs to official clubbingness, too? If so, I shall go hunt one down!
I used to dislike Arina Tanemura's art style, but it has gotten a lot better. Either that, or I got used to it. XD Her details are the most osm thing ever~
